RIMM TRIFOCAL MODEL
Underachievement is a widespread problem in our youth and society today. To help students move toward achievement, we must use three areas together: school, family, and student.
The Trifocal Model was designed to do just that. This workshop will share the components of the Trifocal Model. The program is designed to help educators guide both the student and the parents to happy and successful school year.
Participants will discuss the following components of the Trifocal Model: personality traits; assessment-indices, discrepancies, and directions of underachievement; communication parent/student/educator conference and accountability; changing expectations. The discussion will also include how to create a student case study. Participants will receive handouts to take with them to help guide them through the process.
DATA: TOOLS TO MOTIVATE TO SUCCESS
This workshop will give an overview of the DATA PROGRAM. DATA is used to help schools develop a comprehensive, step-by-step, unified, proactive approach to discipline. It is also helpful to the individual who wants to improve their relationships and discipline with their students. The DATA PROGRAM focuses on the proactive rather than the reactive method of discipline. With this program the students begin to monitor each other’s behavior to create success for the whole class. The session will cover the following categories: Foundations, De-Escalation Model, Key Assumptions, and most important Success Strategies.
GAMES PEOPLE PLAY
This workshop will show ways to help students cope with the issues of both Competition and Cooperation. As we know young people have to deal with these two issues everyday. The problem is that many students find it difficult to be able to cope with one of these issues, and even some find it hard to cope with either one. The session will explore why students have these difficulties, and even more important how we as educators can actually help students develop skills in both these areas. Session members will be able to participate in several of the activities used to help students with cooperative competition.
