“When I first came to Summit I had no friends and was seriously depressed.
Then you talked to me and wanted me to be in your class. Because of you
I have so many friends and I’m very happy! (I’m crying) I’ll never forget you.”

was able to effectively motivate Meredith while modeling ways to teach
her how to deal effectively with opposing view points.”

"Eighth grade, so far, has been pretty good. although my grades have dropped since
I have been in middle school. I have also learned a lot since I have been here. The things
I am talking about are not physical, but, mental. I have learned a lot about myself and
others from a very important person. Believe it or not, this person is a teacher. His
name is Mr. Talbert. He is not a regular teacher; he is more like afather or something.

There are about 24 of us in his class, and I feel that he has touched each and everyone
of us in a way I do not think anyone else on this earth could do. I know that he is my favorite
teacher ever, and I am pretty sure he has some other great admirers. One of the reasons
I enjoy him so much is because I think we are alike in many ways. In his class, we learn
about the values of life and friendship. He has taught me more than social studies. He has
taught me what life is all about."
